To celebrate the tail end of National Dog Month, dogs and their humans are invited to slow down, be present and enjoy a little paws from the everyday at Harley Barke "Mindful Mutts," a free dog-friendly meditation and community gathering on the West Lawn of Evanston’s historic Harley Clarke Mansion. Embracing the Dog Days of Summer, the event will begin with a 20-minute guided meditation for people and their pups, led by Heaven Meets Earth Yoga Studio, followed by drinks, socializing and free dog treats at the Harley Clarke Mansion Beer Garden/lawn overlooking the lake. Dogs naturally take cues from their humans, so finding a calmer state together can be beneficial for both ends of the leash. No meditation experience is necessary, and beginners are encouraged.
